Word Golf — Deleting your data

‍ ‍

How to request deletion

‍ ‍

Email admin@eastlumenz.com with the subject "Delete my Word Golf data".

‍ ‍

To find your account, include your Player ID. You can find it in the app under Settings → Player ID. If you have signed in with Google, say so and include the email address of that Google account instead.

‍ ‍

Requests are handled manually and are normally completed within 30 days.

‍ ‍

What Word Golf stores

‍ ‍

Word Golf does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address or any contact details.

‍ ‍

Always stored

‍ ‍

  • A Player ID — a random identifier generated by the app on your device the first time you open it. It is not derived from your device, your phone number, or anything about you.

  • A display name, if you chose one. This is shown on leaderboards.

  • Your scores for each puzzle.

  • The prompts you submitted, along with the model's replies. Prompts are never shown to other players.

‍ ‍

Stored only if you sign in with Google

‍ ‍

  • A Google account identifier used to link that account to your Player ID, so your scores can be restored on another device.

  • Your email address is not stored. Word Golf never receives it.

‍ ‍

Word Golf does not collect your location, your contacts, your device identifiers, or anything else about you or your device.

‍ ‍

What deletion removes

‍ ‍

On request, the following are permanently deleted:

‍ ‍

  • Your Player ID and display name

  • All of your scores, including any appearing on leaderboards

  • All prompts you have submitted and the replies to them

  • The link between your Google account and your Player ID, if you signed in

‍ ‍

Nothing about you is retained afterwards. There is no backup copy kept for marketing, analytics or any other purpose.

‍ ‍

One exception. Routine database backups may retain a copy for a short period before being overwritten in the normal course of operation. These are not accessed and are not used to restore deleted accounts.

Removing only part of your data. You don't have to delete everything. Email the same address if you'd rather just remove a score from a leaderboard, clear your display name, or unlink your Google account — say which and your other data stays as it is.

Deleting without contacting us

‍ ‍

You can remove your data from your own device at any time:

‍ ‍

  • In the app, use Settings → Sign out. This gives your device a new Player ID and clears your local history. Your previous scores remain on the leaderboards under your old name until you request deletion.

  • On the web, clearing your browser's site data for play.eastlumenz.com has the same effect.

‍ ‍

To remove your scores from the leaderboards as well, email the address above.
